Overview
How to use QField on site — for builders, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients.
QField is a construction quality platform you use on site and at your desk. It replaces paper inspection checklists, defect lists, and fire penetration records with a digital workflow that keeps photos, sign-offs, and rework history in one place. Site workers use the QField mobile app to scan a QR code on a door and open the right level. Builders set the projects up on the web and review the finished work. Clients and consultants log defects and approve fixes. Subcontractors fix the defects and submit photo proof. Every status change is saved so nothing gets lost between site and the office.

How to read a page
Every page is one task. Open it, follow the numbered steps from top to bottom, and look at the screenshots next to each step — they show exactly where to tap or click. Web-only steps and mobile-only steps are marked with a Web or Mobile badge. If something doesn't match what you see, scroll to If something goes wrong at the bottom of the page for the most common fixes.
Can't find the task you need? More pages are being added. If you're stuck right now, email support@qfield.com.au.
